There have been many advances in wind turbines and wind power. Three bladed large and small wind turbines.  Some are used in the home and others are in large scale wind farms.

Wind Turbine Power

How does a wind turbine work? Mostly they are three bladed variable speed turbines.  The rotor blades are adjusted and controlled via three independent electro-mechanical propulsion units for the pitch systems. On a pitch-controlled wind turbine the turbine's electronic controller checks the power output of the turbine several times per second. When the power output becomes too high, it sends a command to the pitch mechanism, which then moves the rotor blades slightly out of the wind to slow it down a little.  On the same note.. when the power output gets lower, the blades are turned back into the wind.  They are built to be aerodynamic efficient have low maintenance as well as a longer turbine life.

Where is this energy stored? Today.. batteries are the most widely used.  The problem is that batteries have a know low temperature performance and are very limited under extreme temperatures and conditions. Batteries require a repeated replacement throughout the life of the wind energy plant and they are not designed to handle even  the basic  requirements of it's own system power source (to provide the burst of energy to move the rotor blades around)  That is where the ultracapacitor comes in.. it can provide the quick burst of energy and are a simple, solid. and a highly reliable solution.

I love this technology so very much.. I love doing this.
